At Huon Anglican Church we want to help people grow their faith and come to know Jesus in their life. No matter where you are on your journey of faith, we’d love to help equip you as a disciple of Jesus.
Alpha
Everyone has questions. We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore the Christian faith, ask questions and share their point of view.
Alpha is a 9-week course (plus one weekend) exploring the basics of the Christian faith. No pressure, no follow up, no charge. We run Alpha once a year.
Baptism
One of God's great gifts to us is the gift of Baptism. Jesus commanded his followers to be baptised in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Huon Anglican Church takes baptism seriously. If you have made the decision and commitment to follow Jesus, baptism is one of the most meaningful steps you can take to grow in your faith and relationship with Jesus. Baptism is an outward symbol of an inward change. If you're interested in baptism and don't regularly attend Huon Anglican, the first step is to start coming along to one of our Sunday services. We'd love to have you!
Prayer
Prayer is important! We come to God in prayer because we depend on Him in all things. We meet for prayer once a week to pray for our local community and church: Thursday mornings, 8.30am at the Connect Centre: 21 Wilmot Rd, Huonville.
If you feel you need prayer or have someone you would like us to pray for please feel free to submit a prayer request. These can be submitted anonymously if you wish. Please click on the button below and fill out the details.
Bible Reading
Sometimes reading the Bible can be overwhelming. If you’re opening the Bible for the first time, or are looking to deepen your knowledge and faith, we would love to help you. The best place to start is to come along to one of our Sunday Services and have a chat with one of the leaders. Each week at church we open up the Bible and we learn about how to understand what we’re reading. These passages are further explored during our mid-week life groups.
From time to time our church does a Bible reading plan together. This year, we’re aiming to read the whole Bible together in one year. Click below to go to the ‘Bible in One Year’ website or to download the app.
Serve
Everyone has been gifted by God with unique talents, skills and passions which He wants us to use. Maybe you have a talent for music, a skill working with numbers or a passion for looking after people. Whatever it is, God wants us to put them to use by serving others. We offer many ways for our regular church attendees to get involved and serve within our community at Huon Anglican. We would love to meet you and find out what your unique gifts are and how you can use them to serve God, whether it be with our church, the Huon Valley community or even globally!
